Turkish Ceramic Association Membership Terms

ARTICLE 4 - ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP:

4.1. The Association has five types of membership as principal, representative, student, voluntary and honorary. Engineers, scientists, academics staff, researchers, fine artists, manufacturers and other professionals, graduates of ceramic related institutions of higher learning and vocational schools and those who have served for minimum one year in a field relating to ceramics may become "principal members" of the Association. One individual in the name of organizations manufacturing in ceramic and related fields may become "representative member" of the Association. Representative members may take on active duty and may vote in the general meeting. Students who study full-time in any ceramic related institution of higher learning may become "student members" of the Association. Student members may not vote at the general meeting. Those contributing to ceramic art, science and technology and the realization of the objects of the Association may be elected as "voluntary members" upon recommendation of the Board of Directors and General Meeting resolution. Voluntary members do not pay membership fees and may not vote at the General Assembly. Those who have served for minimum twenty-five years in ceramic related technology, science and art fields and have made major contributions to the furthering of the objects of the Association may be elected as "Honorary Members" upon recommendation of the Board of Directors and General Meeting resolution. Honorary members do not pay membership fees, may not vote at the General Meeting but may take on active duty.

ARTICLE 5 - JOINING THE ASSOCIATION - DEPARTURE AND DISMISSAL FROM MEMBERSHIP:
5.1. Natural persons, who adopt the purpose and fields of operation of the Association and who are not legally banned personally, will notify their requests for becoming members of the Association in writing to the Board of Directors. This written request will be notified to the request holder if an affirmative decision if passed in the first meeting of the Board of Directors and the individual will be entitled to membership upon registration in the membership register.

5.2. A member wishing to depart from the Association will notify his/her wish in writing to the Board of Directors. The departure request will be finalized on the date on which it is acknowledged at the next Board of Directors meeting.

5.3. Membership records of those who lose the right to become members of associations under Associations Act no. 2908 and those who fail to pay membership fees for 3 years notwithstanding written warning will be deleted by the Board of Directors. The members will pay their over due debts at the amount of the year of payment. Those determined to have violated the object and fields of operation of the Association as a result of a review of their written defences and those who fail to fulfill such duties as laden by main by-laws and regulations, save reasons beyond control, will be dismissed from membership by Board of Advisors resolution upon application by the Board of Directors. Those, who fail to submit their defence in 15 days notwithstanding a request by the Board of Directors, will be deemed to have waived their right of defence.

ARTICLE 6 - MEMBERSHIP RIGHTS:
6.1. Association members will receive aid and support under equal terms from the Association for their problems covered by the fields of operation.

ARTICLE 7 - MEMBERSHIP DUTIES::
7.1. In fulfillment of the duties of the Association, members are required to support the Association to the best they can and to give support on every matter in furthering of common interests. Members are required to adhere to the By-Laws of the Association and to adhere to and implement any decisions to be taken by the Association in accordance with laws and by-laws.
